A facility manager, Kayode Samuel, was on Wednesday arraigned before a Life Camp Chief Magistrates’ Court in Abuja over alleged property damage.

The police charged Samuel with joint act, criminal trespass, mischief and resisting arrest. He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecution counsel, Charity Nwachukwu, told the court that the complainant, Andrea Ejueyitsi of Brains and Hammer City, Abuja, reported the matter at Karimo Police Station on September 29.

Nwachukwu alleged that Samuel and others currently at large trespassed into the estate and disconnected its electricity supply without permission, damaging the circuit breaker, cables and a refrigerator in the process.

She added that the defendant made a confessional statement admitting to the offence during police investigations.

The prosecution said the alleged offences contravened Sections 79, 348, 327 and 172 of the Penal Code.

The Chief Magistrate, Musa Jobbo, granted Samuel bail in the sum of ₦1 million, with two sureties each in like sum.

Jobbo ordered the sureties to provide valid means of identification and adjourned the case until November 19 for hearing.
