The Zamfara chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called on Gov. Dauda Lawal to provide a breakdown of the N20 billion worth of projects reportedly executed in each of the state’s 14 Local Government Areas.
The State ADC Chairman, Kabiru Garba, made the demand in a statement issued in Gusau on Monday.
Garba said the party was seeking a comprehensive and verifiable account of capital projects executed across the 14 LGAs since the commencement of the present administration.
He said the governor’s reported investment of more than N20 billion in projects in each LGA represented a significant public investment that should be properly documented.
Reacting, the Director-General, Media and Communications to the Zamfara Government, Nuhu Anka, said the governor’s statement was accurate, citing ongoing projects in road construction, education, healthcare, security, agriculture and empowerment.
Anka described the ADC’s demand as politically motivated and urged the party to focus on constructive criticism rather than political sentiment.
