Former “American Idol” contestant Caleb Flynn has been found guilty of murdering his wife, Ashley Flynn, and is set to be sentenced.

Flynn faces life imprisonment without the possibility of parole. TMZ reported that it would stream the sentencing hearing live.

Prosecutors alleged during the trial that Flynn shot Ashley twice in the back of the head and staged the scene to make it appear that a break-in had occurred. They also alleged that he was having an affair and had sent his mistress a text message the night before the killing saying, “I choose you. I’m free. Actions will come tomorrow.”

Flynn broke down in tears when the jury returned the guilty verdict, while members of Ashley’s family cried, smiled and embraced one another.

The charges against Flynn included aggravated murder, murder, felonious assault and tampering with evidence.
