Portugal head coach Jorge Jesus has addressed the misunderstanding following Cristiano Ronaldo’s sudden walkout from the national team camp, making it clear that the door remains open for captain to return.

Speaking after Portugal’s 2-1 Nations League win over Norway, Jesus downplayed the touchline controversy regarding Ronaldo warming up without coming on, labeling the whole situation as a simple misunderstanding that was blown out of proportion.

Jesus said:

“For me, everything is OPEN. Cris has to decide what he wants to do with his own life… He WILL be called up for the next international break, if he wants to return.”

“It was a MISUNDERSTANDING and for me it’s EASY to resolve this situation… Just because it was him, and perhaps rightly so, because he is a symbol, this whole issue of warming up and not warming up, coming on and not coming on, has been created.”

Jesus emphasized that as long as Ronaldo stays active and playing with Al-Nassr, he is ready to include him in the next Portugal squad.
