… APC candidate Kadri Hamzat Asserts Readiness for Lagos 2027 Governorship Race
Dr. Kadri Hamzat, current Deputy Governor of Lagos State and APC governorship candidate for 2027, has declared himself the best choice to lead the state, pointing to his long track record in governance and deep knowledge of Lagos politics.
Addressing attendees at the 70th Harvest Anniversary of the Cherubim and Seraphim Society in Ese-Ofin, Hamzat emphasized that governance demands institutional memory. He noted that his public service career began in 2005 when President Bola Tinubu—then Governor of Lagos—invited him back from New York to serve as Commissioner.
“Lagos Cannot Be Left to the Inexperienced”
Hamzat warned residents to be wary of politicians offering unrealistic campaign promises. Pointing to the economic significance of the state, he emphasized:
“Nigeria collects over 33 per cent of its GDP from Lagos. The state cannot be taken for granted, and we cannot allow an inexperienced person to rule it.”
Faith, Outreach, and Civic Leadership
The anniversary celebration also highlighted social impact initiatives. Lagos APC Chairman Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi revealed that the church organized a free medical outreach to support the rural community ahead of the thanksgiving grand finale.
Other prominent figures at the service included Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, wife of the Lagos State Governor, and Rev. Esther Ajayi, both of whom called for continued prayers for Nigeria and its leaders.
