The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Lagos State Council, has mourned the death of its former Secretary, Mr Alfred Odifa, who died on Thursday after a brief illness.
The council described Odifa as a versatile professional, respected journalist, administrator and unionist who contributed to its growth and development.
Odifa was a Deputy Director in the Lagos State Ministry of Information and Strategy until his death.
The NUJ Lagos Information Chapel also described him as a dedicated unionist and valued member, while the Photojournalists Association of Nigeria (PJAN), Lagos State Chapter, described his death as a painful loss to the journalism community.
The organisations extended condolences to his family, colleagues and associates and prayed for strength for them and the repose of his soul.
