The Police on Thursday arraigned Jenifer Yakubu, 22, and Samuel Thaddaeus, 29, before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing $7,000 belonging to Veronica Akuete.
The defendants faced a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing before Magistrate Lateef Owolabi.
The prosecutor, Josephine Ikhayere, alleged that the defendants conspired to steal the money at No. 150A Lollaho Loway, Omole Estate, Ojodu Berger, Lagos, in early 2026.
She further alleged that they stole the $7,000, which belonged to Akuete.
The offences contravene Sections 280(1)(a) and (b) and are punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The defendants pleaded not guilty.
The court granted them bail of N600,000 each with one surety each and adjourned the case until Nov. 24 for hearing.
