After considering his international retirement plans following the World Cup, Ronaldo addressed his international future during a press conference ahead of Portugal’s upcoming UEFA Nations League campaign, explaining the conversations that convinced him to continue representing his country.
The 41-year-old admitted that conversations with Portuguese Football Federation leaders and head coach Jorge Jesus played a decisive role in reassuring him of his value to the squad.
Ronaldo emphasized that his impact extends beyond scoring, focusing on mentoring younger players, providing leadership, and supporting team goals both on and off the field.
He stated he will continue as long as he feels capable of making a positive contribution, noting that he will step aside whenever he feels he can no longer add value.
