​Inter Miami CF defeated Liga MX champions Cruz Azul 2-0 at Nu Stadium to win the 2026 Campeones Cup, securing the fifth trophy in club history.

​The victory marked a perfect start for new head coach Cristian “Kily” González in his debut match in charge.

​24th Minute: Lionel Messi opened the scoring with a precise header off a Luis Suárez cross. This was Messi’s 100th goal for Inter Miami across 115 appearances, making him the first player in club history to reach the century mark.

​56th Minute: Messi tucked a second finish past Kevin Mier following a ball over the top from Suárez, but the effort was ruled out for offside.

​81st Minute: Messi swung in a corner kick from the left, allowing Casemiro to rise above the defense and head home the second goal to seal the championship. It was Casemiro’s 4th goal for the club since arriving in the summer.
