For female farmers in Anambra State, a ₦5 million intervention from Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, could provide much-needed support to expand their farms, strengthen their businesses and improve their livelihoods.
The intervention was announced as part of the Renewed Hope Initiative, which has continued to focus on supporting women and vulnerable groups across the country.
Rather than simply providing a one-off financial boost, the initiative is aimed at helping women involved in agriculture increase their productive capacity and build more sustainable sources of income.
For women who depend on farming and small-scale agricultural businesses, access to funding can make a significant difference.
The money can help beneficiaries purchase farming inputs, improve production and support the expansion of their businesses.
The intervention also comes at a time when food production and the rising cost of living remain major concerns for many Nigerian households.
