The Police Command in Niger State has arrested two suspects over the alleged theft of a cow in Suleja.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday in Minna.

Abiodun said the incident was reported at ‘B’ Division, Suleja, on Sept. 5, after a young boy who had taken cattle for grazing along the New-Gwazunu area returned home on Sept. 4 and discovered that one of the cows was missing.

He said police operatives commenced investigation and arrested one of the suspects, Salisu, who allegedly confessed to the crime.

“Salisu stated that he handed over the cow to one Ismail and Puri, both currently at large. It was further revealed that the cow was sold to one Habu.

“The said cow was later recovered from the house of one Suleiman Bawa, of APC Quarters Suleja with two other cows, who claimed that Habu kept the animals with him.”

Abiodun said Salisu and Bawa remained in custody for further investigation, while efforts were ongoing to arrest Ismail, Puri and Habu.
