The new Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), Prof. Ayodeji Badejo, will assume office on Sept. 20.
Mrs Oluwayemisi Thomas-Onashile, Deputy Registrar and Coordinator, Centre for Information and Public Relations, LASU, disclosed this on Wednesday evening.
Badejo, a Professor of Guidance and Counselling, will succeed Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, whose five-year tenure as Vice-Chancellor will expire with her retirement.
Thomas-Onashile said the appointment was made in accordance with the provisions of the LASU Law, 2004, as amended.
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, appointed Badejo as the new Vice-Chancellor in a statement issued by the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Gbenga Omotoso, on Wednesday.
Badejo was born on Aug. 4, 1962. She holds a PhD and a Master of Education in Guidance and Counselling from the University of Lagos.
