The Anambra Government says it is ready to receive the First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, on her working visit to the state on Thursday.
The Commissioner for Information and Value Reorientation, Mr Law Mefor, said the visit would strengthen collaboration between the state and Federal Government in tackling poverty, food insecurity and youth unemployment.
According to him, the visit would feature the launch of the National Community Food Bank Programme for the South-East and the commissioning of an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Centre at the Federal Polytechnic, Oko.
Mefor said the food bank, under the Renewed Hope Initiative, would support vulnerable groups, including children, nursing mothers, widows, elderly persons and persons living with disabilities.
He added that the ICT centre would equip students with digital skills and complement the state government’s efforts in technology and innovation.
The commissioner said communities, market women, youth groups, students and traditional institutions had been mobilised to welcome the First Lady.
He said the visit would underscore the commitment of both governments to improving livelihoods and creating opportunities for vulnerable residents.
