Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Burna Boy, and Colombian singer, Shakira, have reached a major milestone with their joint track, “Dai Dai”, as its official music video surpasses one billion views on YouTube.
The milestone was recorded on Shakira’s official YouTube channel, with the video crossing the one-billion-view mark.
Released in May, the collaboration combines Shakira’s Latin-pop sound with Burna Boy’s Afrobeats style, reflecting the growing international appeal of both artistes.
“Dai Dai” was named the official song of the FIFA World Cup 2026, with royalties from the track set to support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.
Shakira previously recorded “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)”, the official song of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
The latest achievement further highlights Burna Boy’s global profile and the expanding international reach of Nigerian Afrobeats.
“Dai Dai” is also included in the official FIFA World Cup 2026 album alongside songs by other international artistes, including Davido, Ayra Starr and Rema.
