Three men, Waheed Bojesomo, Olajide Olakanmi and Olayinka Oludayo, were arraigned before the Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan on Tuesday for allegedly defrauding a spiritual seeker of N6.8 million.
Bojesomo, 53, Olakanmi, 59, and Oludayo, 46, are facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, fraud and stealing.
They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecutor, ASP Sikiru Opaleye, told the court that the defendants conspired to commit the alleged fraud.
Opaleye alleged that between 2022 and October 2025, at Apatere Village, Ibadan, the defendants obtained N6.8 million from Muritala Abiodun under the pretence of preparing spiritual soap for him.
He alleged that the defendants knew the claim to be false and fraudulently converted the money to their personal use.
Opaleye said the offences contravened Sections 390(9), 419 and 516 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Chief Magistrate, Olabisi Ogunkanmi, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N2.5 million each, with two sureties each in like sum.
Ogunkanmi ordered that one of the sureties for each defendant must be a blood relative.
She adjourned the matter until Oct. 22 for hearing.
