Shock and grief have become the lot of media stakeholders in Nigeria as thoroughbred journalist and Publisher of The Eagle Online, Dotun Oladipo, has died.
Oladipo, who was a major catalyst and passionate mentor in the industry and beyond, breathed his last on Tuesday, August 25 after a brief illness.
He was said to have fallen ill while in office and decided to visit a hospital but died on the way.
Apart from his family, his colleagues in the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers are gripped by the shock, all lamenting that a great and roundly beneficial has departed.
Calls have been flying through as colleagues, even in the larger world, have been eagerly seeking a clearer picture of the development.
An official statement is, however, being awaited as the death has since been confirmed.
