TAJBank Limited, a non-interest bank, recorded a 74 per cent year-on-year increase in Profit Before Tax (PBT) to N31.562 billion in the 2025 financial year.
The figure rose from N18.166 billion recorded in the 2024 financial year, according to the bank’s 2025 audited financial statement.
The bank’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr Hamid Joda, said in Abuja on Monday that total assets also grew to N1.34 trillion from N953 billion in the preceding year.
Joda said the bank’s total equity rose to N149 billion, representing a 144 per cent increase from N61.250 billion recorded in 2024.
He described the improving financial performance as a demonstration of the management’s adoption of a prudent financial approach, which he said was helping to strengthen investor confidence in the bank.
“I am using this opportunity to thank the shareholders and to assure them that their funds are secured and will continue to yield sustainable good returns on a yearly basis,” he said.
Joda expressed the bank’s determination to reward shareholders for their commitment to its sustainable growth.
He said the bank’s board, at its 2026 virtual Annual General Meeting (AGM), approved a dividend of 20 kobo per share for investors.
He described the dividend as one of the highest per-share ratios in the country’s banking industry.
The bank’s Chairman, Alhaji Tanko Gwamna, said the decision to pay the dividend was taken during the AGM.
“The Board rewarded the shareholders for their contributions to the growth of TAJBank as we have been doing over the years,” Gwamna said.
The bank’s Executive Director, Mr Sheriff Idi, appreciated the shareholders for their confidence in the management, assuring them that the bank would continue to prioritise their interests.
TAJBank was recently rated by regulatory authorities as the biggest player in the non-interest banking subsector, based on its approved half-year 2025 financial statements in terms of total assets and gross earnings.
The bank also obtained three International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) certifications from Certification Partner Global (CPG): ISO 27001 for Information Security, ISO 22301 for Business Continuity and ISO 20000 for IT Service Management Systems.
