Nigerian record producer Michael Chigozie, popularly known as Tempoe, has received Spotify’s one billion streams plaque for producing CKay’s global hit, *Love Nwantiti (Ah Ah Ah)*.
Tempoe announced the achievement on Wednesday via his verified X account, describing the song as the first and only solo Nigerian track to surpass one billion streams on Spotify.
The plaque recognises Love Nwantiti (Ah Ah Ah), produced by Tempoe and performed by CKay, for reaching the milestone on the streaming platform.
Released in 2019, the song gained worldwide popularity through its international remixes and viral success on social media, becoming one of Afrobeats’ biggest global hits.
Tempoe, who was born and raised in Lagos State, has also produced other successful Afrobeats songs, including Victony’s Soweto, Joeboy’s Sip (Alcohol) and Omah Lay’s Soso.
The recognition marks another milestone for Nigerian music and highlights the growing global influence of Afrobeats on digital streaming platforms.
