A 30-year-old man, Yusuf Ibrahim, has been arraigned before an Ojo Magistrates’ Court in Lagos over the alleged theft of a Point of Sale (POS) machine and an iPhone.

The defendant is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.

He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecutor, SP Uche Simon, told the court that the offences were allegedly committed on July 8 at the Fancy and Furniture Section of Alaba International Market in Ojo.

Simon alleged that Ibrahim conspired with others still at large to steal a POS machine valued at N25,000 and an iPhone worth N530,000 belonging to Emmanuel Obiajunwa.

He said the defendant was later arrested and charged to court.

According to the prosecutor, the offences contravene Sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The Magistrate, Lateef Layeni, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N300,000 with one surety in like sum.

The case was adjourned until Aug. 10 for mention.
