Two brothers, Dele Oyelami, 52, and Tunji Oyelami, 45, were on Thursday arraigned before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan over alleged assault, threats of violence and other offences.
The defendants, who are facing charges of conspiracy, assault, threatening violence and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace, pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, ASP Femi Olanibi, told the court that the offences were allegedly committed on Dec. 25, 2025, in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.
He alleged that the brothers unlawfully detained their neighbour, Samson Ayinde, in a room overnight and assaulted him, causing bodily injuries.
Olanibi further alleged that they threatened Michael Adeyemo and Oluwasayo Adeoye by inciting hoodlums to attack them, an act likely to cause a breach of peace.
He said the offences contravened Sections 355, 365, 249(d) and 516 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mrs Adebola Adeola, granted each defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case until Sept. 3 for hearing.
