Wife of the Anambra State Governor, Dr Nonye Soludo, has urged Nigerians to adopt healthy lifestyles to improve brain health, describing a healthy brain as the foundation of a healthy and productive life.
Soludo made the call in a message issued on Wednesday in Awka to mark the 2026 World Brain Day, observed annually on July 22 to raise awareness about brain health and neurological disorders.
This year’s theme is: “Brain Health: Access for All”.
She emphasised the importance of good nutrition, regular physical exercise, quality sleep, lifelong learning and mental wellness in maintaining optimal brain function.
According to her, adopting these healthy habits would help individuals safeguard their brain health and improve their overall well-being.
“As we commemorate World Brain Day today, it is crucial to remember that a healthy brain is the foundation of a sound and healthy life.
“By embracing good nutrition, regular physical activity, quality sleep, lifelong learning and mental wellness, we can protect one of God’s greatest gifts,” she said.
Soludo also called on Nigerians to support one another in promoting mental wellness and building a healthier and more productive society.
“Let us nurture our minds, support one another and build a healthier, more productive society,” she said.
