Afrobeats star Davido has said one of his greatest fears is not knowing the right time to step away from music, stressing that he does not want to remain in the industry long enough to damage the legacy he has built.

The singer made the remark while reflecting on career longevity and the importance of leaving at the right time.

Davido cited Portuguese football legend Cristiano Ronaldo as an example, noting that even after achieving remarkable success in football, the former Real Madrid and Manchester United star still faced criticism during the World Cup.

According to him, the experience reinforced his desire to recognise the right moment to exit the music scene rather than risk tarnishing his achievements.

“My biggest fear is not knowing when to quit music. Look at Ronaldo, he’s my good friend by the way. After everything he’s done for football, they still laughed at him during the World Cup. I pray to God every day to show me the right time to pack it up, so that I don’t use one small thing to spoil it,” he said.
