A middle-aged man, Yakubu Abubakar, was on Monday docked in an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan, for allegedly stealing his father’s sheep.
The police charged Abubakar with theft.
He pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecution Counsel, CPL David Adepoju, told the court that Abubakar committed the offence on May 12, at about 4.00 p.m., at Ido, Ibadan.
Adepoju said the defendant stole a sheep worth N200,000 and belonging to his father, Ibrahim.
He said the offence contravened the provisions of Section 390 (9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The defendant’s father, told the court that he was fed up with his son’s behaviour.
The Magistrate, Mrs Kausarat Ayofe, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 and two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case until Aug.3, for hearing.
