An Okitipupa Chief Magistrates Court in Ondo State on Friday, remanded a 25-year-old apprentice, Ayo Ajibade, in Okitipupa Correctional Centre for allegedly stealing four tubers of yam valued N10,000.
Mr Mayowa Olanipekun, the Chief Magistrate, remanded the accused whose address was not given until Jan. 29, pending the determination of his judgement, after pleading guilty to a two count charge bordering on felony and stealing.
Earlier, ASP Ayodeji Omoyeigha, the Police Prosecutor told the Court that the defendant and one other at large on Oct. 25, 2025 around 5:00 am at Kiribo in Igbekebo Magisterial District conspired to commit felony.
He said that the defendant and one other at large entered the farm belonging to one Olorunjuwon Igbasan and stole the tubers of yam.
Omoyeigha added that the offences contravene and punishable under Sections 516 and 390 (9), Criminal Code, Cap.37, Vol. 1, Laws of Ondo State, 2006.
