Lagos Assembly confirms Sanwo-Olu’s nominees for key agencies

‎The Lagos State House of Assembly has confirmed several nominees forwarded by Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu for appointment into strategic state agencies.

The confirmation was conducted during Thursday’s plenary, presided over by the Speaker, Mr Mudashiru Obasa.

Obasa said the exercise followed extensive legislative review to ensure competence, integrity and alignment with the state’s development objectives.

He explained that nominees were invited individually to appear before the 40-member House for screening and confirmation.

“During the screening, nominees were questioned on their vision, experience and expected contributions if confirmed.

“They responded confidently, outlining innovative ideas and broader initiatives to improve governance and strengthen service delivery,” Obasa said.

According to him, Mr Kehinde Durosinmi-Etti was confirmed as Chairman, Lagos State Security Trust Fund.

The House also confirmed Mr Adekunle Olopade as Executive Member, Lagos State Electricity Regulatory Commission.

Others confirmed include Mr Alexander Akinwunmi as Chairman, Lagos State Electricity Regulatory Commission.

Mrs Temitope George was confirmed as Chief Executive Officer, Lagos State Electricity Commission.

Mr Falola Olakunle was confirmed as Executive Member of the Lagos State Electricity Regulatory Commission.

Mr Bello Oladimeji was also confirmed as a Non-Executive Member of the Lagos State Electricity Regulatory Commission.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the House stepped down the confirmation of Mrs Adebisi Adelabu for further legislative consideration.

Following the deliberations, the House adjourned its sitting sine die.
