The management of Rovers Football Club, Calabar, has dissolved its technical crew with immediate effect following the team’s poor performances in recent matches.
The decision was disclosed in a statement signed by Etim Okon, chairman of the club’s management committee, and released in Calabar on Monday.
Rovers lost their Week Nine Nigerian National League match 2–0 to Akwa United, deepening concerns over the club’s inconsistent form.
The defeat left Rovers ninth in Conference B, second from bottom among the 10 clubs competing in the group.
Okon said the decision was taken to halt declining results and restore competitiveness ahead of forthcoming league fixtures.
“This action is aimed at addressing our poor run and repositioning the team for improved performances,” the chairman said.
He stated that management had approved a new technical structure, which would soon be implemented to strengthen the squad.
“The restructuring will enhance tactics, leadership and overall team effectiveness,” Okon stated.
He acknowledged the difficulty of the decision but said it was “necessary for the club’s long-term progress”.
Okon reaffirmed the committee’s commitment to rebuilding player confidence and sustaining the club’s ambition of promotion to the Nigeria Premier League.
