Rivers assembly crisis: Court strikes out LP’s suit against INEC

A 37-year old man, Ejiro Oghojafor, was on Thursday, arraigned before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly beating up his wife.

Oghojafor, a trader, who resides at 24. Abioye St., Ogba, Lagos, is being charged with assault to which he pleaded not guilty.

The Prosecutor, ASP Adegoke Ademigbuji told the court that the defendant committed the offence on July 24.

Ademigbuji said that the defendant always beat his wife, the complainant, Mrs Miracle Shittu-Oghojafor whenever they had a misunderstanding.

He further said that the defendant had inflicted several injuries on the complainant as a result of physical violence.

“The complainant has injuries all over her body, including her eyes. Before being arrested, the defendant locked her up in the room and beat her mercilessly,” he said.

Ademigbuji said that the offence contravened the criminal code laws of Lagos State.

The Magistrate, Mrs O. A Odubayo, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000, with two sureties in like sum.

Odubayo adjourned the case until Dec. 17 for mention
