NBA Benin commends unity, resilience of NEC

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Benin Branch has described the association’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, as a testament of the unity and collective determination that exists within the bar.

Chairman of the branch (the Lion bar), Mr Idemudia Iredia-Osifo, said this at the NEC meeting of the NBA, held in Benin on Friday.

In his welcome address, Iredia-Osifo commended the NBA President, Mazi Afam Osigwe (SAN), for his visionary leadership, which he said has strengthened the association’s structure and advocacy for the rule of law.

He described the NEC meeting as being crucial in providing direction for the association’s work, particularly in strengthening internal structures and shaping national conversations.

According to him, the meeting aims at reflecting on the association’s journey so far, evaluate ongoing reforms, and chart pathways for a more resilient and impactful association..

The chairman harped on the importance of collective resolves in defending the rule of law, as well as upholding ethical standards, and promoting justice.

He assured of the branch’s commitment to advocacy, professionalism, and institutional memory within the NBA.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the meeting featured deliberations on various matters, including professional conduct of lawyers, institutional efficiency, welfare of lawyers and public interest interventions.
