Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has approved the redeployment of the state’s attorney-general and commissioner for justice.
The governor also approved the posting of other senior staff in the state civil service. This was contained in a statement by the governor’s spokesman, Mr Sanusi Dawakin-Tofa, on Tuesday in Kano.
He said that the move was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen governance and enhance service delivery across key ministries.
According to the statement, Haruna Dederi, the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, has been redeployed to the Ministry of Transport.
Also, Mustapha Muhammad, the Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary of the ministry, had been moved to the Ministry of Environment to serve as Permanent Secretary.
Alhaji Adamu Aliyu, the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, who had been serving in acting capacity at the Ministry of Transport, would return to his substantive Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs.
The governor also directed that all officials affected by the reassignments should formally hand over the affairs of their offices to the most senior official in the ministry.
He further directed that the handing over processes must be completed before the close of work on Tuesday.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to accountability, efficiency, and purposeful leadership.
He explained that the redeployment was intended to maximize capacity, align responsibilities and ensure that government delivers effective results on its mandate to the people of Kano State.
Yusuf also urged government officials to give maximum cooperation to the newly redeployed Commissioner in order to discharge his responsibility
