Nigeria’s Super Falcons touched down in Abuja on Monday following their triumphant capture of a record 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title after defeating host nation Morocco.

The team arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at exactly 2:45 p.m. aboard a chartered flight and were warmly received by dignitaries, including Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo, and Information Minister Mohammed Idris Malagi.

Keyamo, who spoke to the media after the team’s arrival, said the ladies displayed the Nigerian spirit on the pitch and deserved all admiration.

“The girls have ‘I can do spirit’, which is typical of every Nigerian; we need this same attitude in every sector.

“We are happy to welcome the champions, who were incredible in the tournament and can’t wait for President Bola Tinubu to receive them,” Keyamo said.

The team now heads to the Presidential villa.
