Members of the newly inaugurated management of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) have vowed to discharge their duties effectively in line with the mandate of the corporation.

Mr Thompson Sunday, the new Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of NDIC, said this on its official X account on Friday.

Sunday assured citizens that the team would live up to expectations.

He said that the team would ensure the protection of depositors and contribute to the stability of the financial system.

He expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for appointing members of the management team.

Meanwhile, Mr Wale Edun, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, while inaugurating the team, charged it members to bring their wealth of experience to bear in the discharge of their assignment.

Edun said that the NDIC, as a component of the financial safety-net, had a crucial role to play in the country’s march to economic stability and prosperity.

He assured the NDIC management team of the ministry’s support.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Sunday was appointed as the new CEO of the Corporation while Dr Kabir Katata was appointed as the Executive Director (Operations).
