A 32-year-old man, Emmanuel Evovo, was on Friday arraigned before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan for allegedly stealing N7,138,000 from his business partner.
The prosecutor, Insp. Adeshina Folaranmi, told the court that the offence occurred between December 2023 and 2024 in the Bodija area.
Evovo, who pleaded not guilty to the charge of theft, was accused of taking the money belonging to Mr. Francis Chibuikem.
He said the offence contravened Section 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mrs Oluwabusayo Osho, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N3 million with two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case until Sept. 15 for hearing.
