Puzzle has erupted from the ruling All Progressives Congress as its National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has resigned.
While some fear it may be due to high-power scheming at the top, ‘The Nation’ noted that sources confirmed that Ganduje tendered his resignation on health grounds.
The politics of who becomes President Bola Tinubu’s running mate had come to the fore days ago, with speculations rife that he would drop Vice President Kashim Shettima.
Ganduje, who is known to have had a smooth bond with Tinubu, however, reportedly submitted his resignation letter to the APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, on Friday in Abuja.
Ganduje, a former Kano Governor was appointed APC national chairman in 2023, following the resignation of Senator Abdullahi Adamu.
