Next Rated winner, Odumodublvck, has advised budding artistes to shun contracts that perpetually keep them debtors.
One of such, he said was signing advance contracts when the music is not ready and ripe.
Reflecting on X, he writes (SIC): “Dear upcoming artist, if you know your music is not ripe, stay away from an advance. You do not want to be owing an organisation so much money. You will die a debtor, please heed to my advice. Be patience and work hard till you are ready, please.”
Some musicians have been in contracts that later became messy as they discovered the terms were unfavourable.
Among such are durable superstar, King Sunny Ade, while younger; Brymo and Chocolate City, Iyanya and Asa and Question Mark, Kizz Daniel Vs G-Worldwide and Morgan vs Jude Okoye.
