Dr Sid’s popular song, ‘Surulere’, may be invoking a new meaning with his relocation to the United States of America.

The Yoruba term, ‘suuru lere’, means there is gain in being patient and persevering but Sid has confirmed his japa development.

Could it mean that it was his patience that paved the way for him or he became impatient with the Nigerian hardship and he thus has to leave?

Sid has joined the list of Nigerian entertainers who have relocated, including Banky W and Omotola.

He, however, says it is a job he got that gave him the opportunity of relocation.

The artiste, whose real name is Sydney Esiri, in a recent episode of the ‘No Man’s Friend’ podcast, revealed that he moved after he got job opportunity with a New York-based company that allowed him to live anywhere in the U.S.

According to him, he chose Houston, Texas, due to family ties and friendships, making the decision an easy one.

“I now live in the U.S. I left Nigeria last year after I got a job with a company in New York that offered me an opportunity to move to the States and live anywhere in the U.S.

“I’ve family in Houston, my best friend lives here so Houston, Texas was an easy choice. And that is it. I’ve been working here for the last one year and a half,” he said.
