Foluke Sijuwola Falayi, an author of over 20 books, will be hosting “Read with Me on International Literacy Day”, an initiative she started in 2023.
The annual event celebrates the International Literacy Day.
According to Falayi, it is to foster and promote literacy, create awareness on the importance of literacy and to encourage the culture of reading.
She says in a statement, “When we embrace literacy, we are enlightened and most of the problems we encounter as a continent would be resolved.”
This year “Read with Me on International Literacy Day” will be celebrated on the 13th September, 2024.
Venue is the Lagos Chambers of Commerce & Industry, (LCCI) Conference and Exhibition Centre, by Marwa Gardens, Secretariat, Lagos.
The occasion shall be celebrated with students, representatives from the Ministry of Education, Lagos State; National Library of Nigeria, Copyright Commission, different organisations, people from all walks of life and other stakeholders.
