Two estranged leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar and Nyesom Wike, are currently meeting in Abuja.

They are part of the meeting of the party’s National Caucus meeting to find the way forward for it.

Wike fell out with Atiku after the latter stuck to Iyorchia Ayu as the PDP’s Chairman, a position the former Governor of Rivers State found odd since both are northerners.

Meanwhile, the PDP National Caucus is a crucial assembly of party stakeholders that convenes before the National Executive Committee meeting and sets the tone for every major decision to be made at the NEC meeting.

In many instances, when the National Caucus reach a consensus on matters, the NEC simply approves it, but when there is disagreement, other qualifying members of the NEC will vote either for or against the issue in question.

They arrived at the 44th PDP National Caucus ongoing meeting at the Bauchi State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja, accompanied by their loyalists within the party.

Also present in the meeting are the Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum and Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed; Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara; Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Adolphus Wabara; PDP Acting National Chairman, Amb Umar Damagum; and former governor of Jigawa, Sule Lamido, among others.
