As more people mourn Yoruba comedian, Sisi Quadri, one of his brothers, Oyebamiji, has revealed the ailments he treated in his last week on earth.
According to him, Sisi Quadri battled hiccup in the last day, although he had been in hospital for one or two other ailments before.
In an interview with Yoruba.com, he noted that the actor, who specialised in lampooning others in Yoruba figurative expressions, was initially said to have fallen down at a location.
He said he was taken to a hospital where he was treated for malaria and ulcer.
He noted that Sisi Quadri got well and returned home, only to develop hiccup, which the Yoruba call esuke.
The deceased’s brother further stated that he was again taken to a hospital which, however, referred him to the Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso, as the complication got protracted.
“It wasn’t that he was critically ill,” he said. “He even transferred money into our account that day, for treatment. On our way, when some policemen saw us and asked him to give them money, he even joked with them that they should go and collect money from Sanwo-Olu,” he added.
Sisi Quadri could, however, not survive the ailment as news of his death broke out on Friday.
