Nigeria has renewed hope at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations as it beat host Ivory Coast 1-0 in their second match.

Ekong got the goal in the second half of the tension-soaked match.

He got it via a penalty after star striker Victor Osimhen was brought down in the forbidden space.

With the victory, the Super Eagles are now second in their group, coming after Equatorial Guinea which leads with goal difference.

The Ivoriens are now third.
