2 teenagers docked for allegedly stealing kitchen utensils

Two teenagers were on Thursday docked in a Grade l Area Court, Kabusa in Abuja, for allegedly breaking into a shop and stealing kitchen utensils worth N268, 000.

Samaila Muhhammed, 19, and Musa Awalu, 19, were charged with criminal conspiracy, shop breaking and theft.

They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Prosecution Counsel, O. S. Osho told the court that the complainant, Hamza Gide of Kabusa, reported the matter at the Police Station on Aug. 28.

Osho said that the defendants broke into the complainant’s shop and stole some kitchen utensils worth N268, 000 and sold them to one Amina Sani, who also lives in Kabusa.

The prosecutor said the offence contravened the provisions of sections 226, 97 and 287 of the Penal Code.

The Judge, Malam Abubakar Sadiq, admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N100, 000 each with one surety each in like sum each.

Sadiq adjourned the case until Oct. 10 for trial.
