Sensational artiste, Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, has opened up on how her Secondary School Mathematics teacher had a foresight on how she was going to be signed to Mavin Records.
According to the singer in a recent episode of “Afrobeats Intelligence” with Joey Akan, the teacher inspired her since when she was 14 by telling her she would be signed by the big record label.
She claimed that even though she was only 14 years old, she was inspired to join the choir and get better at singing because he had faith in her.
Ayra received encouragement from the teacher to post her videos for others to view online.
She was signed to Don Jazzy’s record label, just as he had predicted.
In her words;
“I have a teacher that literally inspired me.
“He said I was going to be signed to Mavin. It’s crazy.
“I was 14 then, and he said, ‘Mavin is going to sign you. Start making videos.’
“He would just inspire me. He was even Muslim, but he would tell me to go to church and join the choir. He was my math teacher.”
