Multi-talented artiste, Olatunde Obajeun, has auditioned for ‘Borderline’, a feature film he plans to shoot this year. The Lagos-based musician, producer and cinematographer has worked with many artistes in music, film, dance and other genres but he believes his passion for the screen is ripe; hence the new production.

“My passion for film is as strong as the one I have for music and others. It is so burning now that I can’t resist it. And, once you have a good story and other means to transform it onto the screen, I think the best thing is to give it a shot,” Obajeun says. “I want to tell our story in a new way,” he adds.

He is further inspired by the buzz Nollywood has continued to generate, noting that it is also a time to get closer.

He says, “Nollywood is growing against all odds. Tales of the successes our people keep inspiring one. Besides, the industry has redefined itself in terms of business culture. Filmmaking is an art as well as a science and economics of money making. With the interventions of the likes of Netflix, Africa Magics and other platforms, the field has become larger, ready to accept fresh ideas and projects.”

At the audition held at Blue Pictures Cinema in Onikan, Lagos, several talented actors proved their mettle and expressed satisfaction with the process which, they said, was professional and transparent.

Borderline is the story of a terminally ill young job seeker who has to take a desperate step to save his life. The piece’s contemporary mode imbues it with life and a great promise to delight viewers.
