Eagle-eyed folks are already ‘poke-nosing’ into First Lady Aisha Bihari’s wardrobe based on the dress she wore during the Democracy Day event on Wednesday.
Specifically at the Gala Night, Aisha stepped out in a ‘Maple Leaf Embroidered Silk-Crepe Cape-Back Caftan by A-list designer, Oscar De LaRenta.’
According to the oracles, t the dress, which used to go for $4,290 (1,544,400), is currently selling for $2,145 which in Naira equivalent is N772,200.
Tongues have started waging on it – as expected – in the context of the austere philosophy of Aisha’s sweetheart, President Muhammad Buhari.
Some of the questions that will, however, arise will include whether or not a N700,000 is too much for a woman of Aisha’s calibre; whether or not she can afford it personally; whether or not it can be a gift; whether or not it provokes insensitivity even if she can afford it.
Others may want to say no matter how prudent a man is, a woman will always want to be a woman. Yet, the question may be asked: Can’t Buhari dash his wife N700,000 from his salary – which he doesn’t even spend – or take it from his N30m asset?
Questions, questions, ku-we-stions!
