Finance teacher and author, Olumide Emmanuel, has recalled how poor he used to be.
He says it was so bad that the dictionary had no word for its level.
In an online video in which he talks about how to turn passion into money, he notes that his trouble went away when he discovered his passion for talking, coaching others.
“I love speaking. I’m passionate about speaking. I can do it for 10 hours,” he notes. “I was once in a level of poverty the dictionary does not have a word for but I talked my way out of poverty ,” he says, adding, “Discover your passion, develop it, deploy it. Many talented persons remain poor because they don’t know how to develop their talents. “Passion is not just what you are excited at. That you are passionate about something does not mean you will profit from it.”
To discover one’s passion, Olumide notes, one should pay attention to what one enjoys, among other traits.
He adds, “It includes what you enjoy doing and what makes you angry. Sometimes what you are angry about is a proof of what you have been created to solve.

“It also entails what flows naturally out of you. There are a lot of women who, when in the kitchen, fight everything because they don’t enjoy cooking. They fight with the gas, pot and everyone. The reason is that cooking is not natural to them. It is a stress. It means cooking is not their passion, whereas there are others who enjoy it naturally.”
Passion, he further states, lies in where you produce the best result as well as what people see in you, adding that, at times, people are a pointer to your passion.
Emmanuel says, “Passion is further about what people want to help you with, what they want to join you doing.
“It also lies in the thought or dream that won’t leave you. It lies in what you feel peace doing – no stress, no pressure; and what you can give 100 per cent of your life to.”
