Ogundoyin, who represents the Ibarapa East constituency in the Assembly, was declared Speaker by clerk of the Assembly, Felicia Oyediran, after his unopposed nomination by Honourable Adebayo Babajide (Ibadan North II constituency) and seconded by Honourable Adeola Bamidele (Iseyin/Itesiwaju constituency).
