Mr Yomi Ayorinde has emerged the Ekiti state House of Assembly candidate for Ido-Osi constituency 2 on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ojo Atibioke, the Returning Officer, while declaring Ayorinde as the winner of the primary held at the Usi-Ekiti town hall, Usi-Ekiti, on Thursday, said he emerged through consensus.

Atibioke, who described the exercise as peaceful, thanked officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission and security agencies that monitored the process.

Ayorinde in his acceptance speech, assured his constituents of effective representation.

He expressed gratitude to the people of the constituency for the encouragement and support, noting that “Putting People First” will continue to be his Slogan.

Ayorinde, who hails from Usi-Ekiti in Ido-Osi Local Government Area, stated that if elected at the general election, he would not let them down.

The candidate commended Gov. Kayode Fayemi for supporting his nomination.

He promised to ensure continued collaboration between the executive and legislative arms of the government.

“My mission is to give a formidable representation for the people of the constituency at the state assembly with a view to attracting developmental projects and promoting youth empowerment, reducing crime and guaranteeing adequate human and capital development,” Ayorinde stated.

According to Ayorinde, he is in the race to provide positive and all inclusive representation, which he alleged had been lacking in the constituency.

“I am in this contest because I want to give quality representation to my people because they deserve it and much more.

“Before now, I have been carrying out philantrophic gestures that have direct bearing on the lives of my people, in my own personal capacity.

“And so getting the people’s mandate can only mean more projects and empowerment programmes for the women and youths to realize their full potentials.

“I will hold town hall meetings from time to time to ensure popular views and needs of communities are documented and a follow up to ensure positive action,”he added.

The assembly candidate stressed that educational scholarships, agricultural interventions for farmers, sports and health issues would be given priority.

“If I get the seat, we will do great exploits. People will see radical changes in Ido-Osi constituency 2.

“I will be bringing my youthful energy and new ideas to turn things around for the good of everyone. It won’t be business as usual I assure you,” Ayorinde stated.

On his legislative blueprint, the candidate promised to initiate quality legislation that would improve the socio-economic well-being of his constituents and the people of Ido-Ekiti.
