As folks celebrate a declaration by the Nigerian police that it is not a crime to have sex inside one’s car, it may be good to stress the reservation in the said statement.
Police officer Abayomi Shogunle had, in a Twitter response, said that one could not be arrested for having sex in a car in a public place.
The head of Public Complaint Rapid Response Unit of the Nigerian Police, however, gave three conditions:
- The partners must be 18 years and above.
- They must be a man and a woman – not homosexuals.
- The area or premises should not be a worship place.
He added, “If threatened with an arrest over above, please contact @PoliceNG_PCRRU.”
