Sector Commander in Plateau, on Thursday in Jos decorated 31 newly promoted officers and challenged them to be diligent and committed to duty.
A correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN), who covered the event, quoted Alphonsus as advising them to see their promotion as a call for more commitment and hard work towards achieving FRSC’s mandate.
He urged the promoted officers to be diligent and increase their zeal in carrying out their duties, pointing out that the Corps needed them to fulfil their responsibilities professionally.
“Your promotion is an indication that you need to redouble your efforts, live up to expectations and contribute to achieving the vision and mission of the FRSC.
“Do not relent in carrying out your duties diligently; continue to put in your best as it will ensure that we have safer highways, which is our number one priority,” he said.
NAN reports that the FRSC, on April 1, released the promotion of more than 1000 officers nationwide.
Among those promoted were Assistant Corps Marshals, Corps Commanders, Assistant Corps Marshal Deputy Corps Commanders, Corps Commander and Assistant Corps Commanders.
The Zonal Commanding Officer, RS4 Jos, Assistant Corps Marshal Wobin Gora, in a remark, tasked the promoted officers to improve the system through hardwork and determination, while describing their promotions as a morale booster.
Gora urged the officers to create safer highways through hardwork, urging them to focus on being professional at all times.
Mr Bassey Asuquo, who was promoted to the rank of Corp Commander, promised to improve the system by imparting knowledge on young officers.

“I am about to retire and will soon proceed on terminal leave. My goal is to improve the system by imparting knowledge on officers who are still in the service,” he told NAN.
