Popular online commentator, Reno Omokri, has made a case for virgin women.
According to him, they are the only one deserving of the white wedding garment.
Quoting from the Bible, he says they are also the only one on whom bride price should be paid.
He has thus brought back the debate on whether or not a woman should remain a virgin till marrigage.
In the Yoruba culture, virginity used to be a key requirement for marriage.
If the husband thus discovered on the first night that she was not a virgin, she was subjected to shame and rejection.
No wonder, in the Yoruba’s bridal poetry, ‘Ekun Iyawo’, the bride-to-be places a lot of emphasis on the fact that she is as chaste as the early morning flower.
In an online post, Omokri, who was a media aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, said:
Dear men,
Look at the Alaafin of Oyo. 83, and still having babies. Therefore, never accuse any woman of marriage desperation. Your timeframe and hers are not the same. You are being selfish if you date any woman for five years without genuine hope for marriage.

However, ladies should not give men sex as a means of luring them to marriage. Everyone is equal as human beings, but not all wives are equal.
The highest value wife, according to Scripture, is a virgin wife. She is the ONLY Wife of which full bride price should be paid-Exodus 22:17.
Traditionally, the White Wedding dress is ONLY for virgins.
