Lagos State GOV Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, has said that he is now wiser as a politician than he was at the beginning of his tenure.
Ambode said in Abuja on Monday that he got to office as a technocrat and that was the character he brought to bear on his activities.
But, according to him, he is now wiser than then.
Many people had observed that his failure to play the nigerian politics as it is, or balance his style with the other side of politics, cost him the second term.
Indeed, leader of the party and estranged godfather of the governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, had given him passmark in terms of governance but said he failed in the aspect of maintaining the All Progressives Congress politics in Lagos.
During a visit to President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja on Monday, Ambode spoke on the intrigue, saying, “We did our best and most of all our projects and the things we did in Lagos were more or less people friendly and I just think that a lot more people have enjoyed the benefits and the dividends of democracy than we actually met.It gives me joy that you are able to touch lives wherever you find yourself.
“You have to just make positive difference to people or Nigerians, that’s the whole essence of service. I’m grateful that I had that opportunity.”
